Players are often good at executing lobs but make positioning errors after and lose the advantage. The most common mistakes are:
- Not following the lob into the net
- Following the lob in but coming too close to the net
- Changing sides but remaining at the net
You can see in the diagrams below the 3 mistakes:
1 – Not following it in puts less pressure on the person running for the lob.
2 – If you follow it in but get too close you will get lobbed in return.
3 – If you switch sides but don’t get back you are a target for the net players.
